I love the flavors of Chinese cuisine but the unfamiliar ingredients have stopped me from trying to prepare it. Thank you!

I live five minute walk away from an Asian market and about a 20 minute walk away from a Korean market. Plus, my usual market carries so many Asian ingredients. Thank you so much, this is going to be so helpful. I love trying new cuisines, I always learn so much. My taste buds thank you.

Hi Melissa, I brought back seamoss (苔条, tai-tiao)from Shanghai this time. We just photographed a dish with it yesterday, which we will share shortly :-) And from Beijing, I usually bring back a dozen beijing Shaobing (火烧, huo-shao)once you find a good one. But you’d have to eat it quickly as they don’t keep too long. Re-heat them in a toaster oven, and it’s great.

Are there any ingredients that you would bring back into the US? I have access to an Asian supermarket in the US, but am curious if there are certain items that are harder to obtain in the US, or of higher quality in China.
